Fuck, i sleep when i don't need to and when i try to sleep when i should, i can't. it's starting to piss me off. i've listened to cylobotnia and dirty three tonight while trying to fall asleep. usually i fall asleep about 3/4 through an album, but i've gone through two now and i'm wide awake. i have an exam tomorrow, but i'm debating on trying to sleep at all.

i have such mixed feelings about lou reed. i can't tell if i enjoy his music or just find it amuzing. he has some great songs, but i was laying on the bed listening to lou reed's album 'transformer' and there were times i just had to laugh. not out of mockery, but because his lyrics, song arrangement and voice are just really funny. here's his lyrics from 'make up' off the album:

it really must be heard to get the full effect of course, especially the way he sings 'you're a slick little girl'. i really wonder how serious he was when he was making this album because a lot of it sounds just a little self-mocking.

12:50 am: Gary Numan
i was listening to some 80s midi files for fun and Gary Numan's "Cars" on a site i was browsing. so i decided to look him up some more by checking his site and d/ling some songs. i'm d/ling Tubeway Army "Replicas" (Gary's earlier band) and i've listened to close to half of it, but i keep going back to "Down in the Park" just because the production of the song sounds so modern for something recorded in 1978. so i'm d/ling multiple MP3s of the same song to see if this is a remixed version or something. if it IS the original, my God, it was light years ahead of it's time.

Gary Numan is very very good.

01:15 am: Washed Polish Sausage
the word 'pornography' keeps popping into my head. i'm wondering why. i don't think i have been overindulging in pornography to have it so present in my mind.

02:35 am: Independent people and their dancing
i jammed with sean and then went to 'Indiepop night' at paramount. i talked to a lot of friends. mostly female friends. drank three beer, got my computer back from sean's place at 2am, drove home, set up my computer, and posted here saying how i wish i had someone to cuddle with. when i come on to a girl i like, i make an ass of myself. i'm not attractive when i'm attracted. i just talk to them as friends instead, it's safer that way.

I'm gonna jam with Sean Booth tonight. It should be fun since we both speak on the same level when it comes to music even though he's a roughblues type and i'm an electro-geek/indierock guy...or something.

I woke up and i'm naked at the computer right now just about to get read to go to school. i have some homework to finish too. fascinating life i live!

i just played World of Warcraft for 4 hours. i think i'm hooked. i made a friend, we killed monsters together.
